wearer of many hats

experience

I’ve always prided myself on having a great work ethic. People are often surprised by how many hands I have in the pot, but honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Meeting new people, connecting them in positive ways, and investing in my community is what gets me out of bed each day.

While my first job is “mom,” I truly enjoy wearing many hats (probably too many). I’m most passionate about writing and using that skill to help others tell their story in a way that resonates. Writing is at the base of any successful public relations campaign and the reason I majored in communications in college.

After graduating Boston University in 2001, amid the height of the dot-com boom, I naturally entered the world of high-tech public relations. I went on to work for agencies in Boston and New York, primarily for enterprise software clients in Silicon Valley. Aside from working in a dynamic industry that taught me something new each day, I loved to surprise people by being a girl who knew her stuff in a male-dominated industry.

By 2007, I was ready for change. In my spare time, I penned a blog named brooklynenthusiast (now defunct) and focused on reviewing local restaurants, attractions and sharing my opinions. Soon after, I enrolled in culinary school with the goal of leaping into the world of food and wine editorial. The day I dropped off my deposit, I found out I was pregnant with twins. Eight months later, I traded in my coveted window seat cubicle for full-time mom life in the burbs.

Eleven years later, I’ve owned and operated a successful mobile coffee truck business (formerly known as The Buzz Truck), served as PTA president at my daughters’ elementary school, planned several large-scale local fundraisers, and became a managing editor for Fairfield Magazine, a regional bi-monthly publication under the TownVibe media umbrella.

I began receiving requests from friends and acquaintances to help with their social media, marketing and pr campaigns. What started as a hobby, has become a small business. I’m loving every minute and trying to expand my skill-set each day.
